We seldom have non Texas wood in our inventory, but this is left over from a commissioned project. Mahogany makes a gorgeous turning wood, and these blocks are perfect for bowls or platters. The grain on this block is long and straight. The color is a deep red brown, with a beautiful chatoyance. The wood is 8 to 10% moisture content. I

Cover too loose.

Nice looking, decent quality, versatile for different gauges. My only complaint with this holder is the cover doesn’t stay on very well, bought 3, and all 3 pop off easily, you will need to zip tie on.
