Blackmagic Mini Converter Audio to SDI

This compact audio embedder is designed to integrate professional analog and digital audio sources directly into an SDI video signal while maintaining the precise synchronisation required in modern broadcast workflows. Built for environments where reliability and signal integrity are essential, the unit supports SD, HD and 3G‑SDI signals with automatic format detection, allowing it to adapt seamlessly to changing video standards without operator intervention. This ensures that mixers, recorders and routing systems always receive a stable and correctly embedded feed. 

The device accepts up to four channels of balanced analog audio or up to eight channels of AES or EBU digital audio, making it versatile for a wide range of professional sources. Mixers, analog tape machines, audio interfaces and digital playback systems can all be embedded into the SDI stream without requiring external synchronization hardware. Thanks to precise 48 kHz and 24‑bit audio sampling, the resulting SDI output maintains the audio fidelity needed for broadcast and live productions. These audio channels are embedded into a single SDI stream which can then be routed through switchers, monitors, converters or recorders without quality loss. 

The unit supports the full spectrum of SDI formats including NTSC and PAL for standard definition, 720p and 1080p/1080i formats for high definition and 2K DCI standards for cinema workflows. With internal reclocking, the device ensures robust signal delivery even across longer SDI cables, reducing jitter and maintaining timing accuracy. A redundant SDI input provides automatic failover, preserving output continuity in mission critical installations. This makes the converter suitable for studio environments, OB vans, event venues and ingest stations where reliability cannot be compromised. 

The compact all‑metal chassis is engineered for durability and can be installed unobtrusively behind equipment racks or monitors. Configuration is available via USB, and the device includes a 12‑volt international power supply for global use. It integrates well into mixed‑format facilities due to its compliance with SMPTE standards such as SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 372M and 424M level B. This ensures broad compatibility with professional routers and switchers.
