Een Saumur die finesse en diepte knap samenbrengt. Langlois laat met Clos Saint Florent zien hoe Chenin Blanc op krijtrijke bodems tegelijk levendig en romig kan zijn. Dit is de signatuur van een historisch huis dat sinds 1885 excelleert in Loirewijnen en dat onderdeel is van Société Jacques Bollinger. De stijl is precies, intens en gastronomisch inzetbaar.

Wijngaarden en regio

Clos Saint Florent is een ommuurde topwijngaard van 15 hectare, gelegen achter en bij het château en boven de kelders van Langlois. De druiven komen van de beste percelen rond Saumur, waaronder Clos Saint Florent en Dampierre sur Loire. De bodem bestaat uit krijt, zand en klei en de stokken zijn ouder dan 35 jaar. Dit terroir geeft spanning, rijp geel fruit en een verfijnde, ziltige ondertoon die typisch is voor Saumur.

Vinificatie en rijping

De druiven worden met de hand geoogst en enkele uren na de pluk zacht geperst. De vergisting vindt plaats op Franse eikenhouten vaten, waarbij ongeveer 20 tot 30 procent nieuw hout wordt gebruikt voor extra gelaagdheid. Daarna rijpt de wijn 12 maanden op de fijne droesem. Wat doet rijping op droesem precies. De jonge wijn rust op zijn fijne gistdepot, waardoor textuur en romigheid toenemen zonder de frisheid te verliezen. Langlois werkt volgens Terra Vitis met veel aandacht voor natuur en bodem, wat de zuiverheid in het glas versterkt.

Druivensamenstelling

Chenin Blanc, Clos Saint Florent en Dampierre sur Loire.
Chenin in Saumur staat bekend om zijn hoge natuurlijke zuren, rijp steenfruit en de capaciteit om hout en droesemrijping elegant te dragen.

Proefnotities en serveertips

Helder zachtgeel met gouden schakering. De geur combineert rijp fruit zoals perzik met witte bloesem en een verfijnde notigheid. De smaak is intens en exact, gedragen door rijke zuren en een evenwichtige finale met subtiele tonen van fruit, hazelnoot en walnoot. Serveer bij exclusieve salades met krab of kreeft, bij rijke maar delicate visgerechten, bij romige risotto of bij zachtromige en blauwe kazen.

I was skeptical that my ASURION warranty would be honored since it was not an easy process to submit claim and required following up several times. Not as easy as buying it initially for a product on check out at amazon. Once the burdensome process was completed on my end, It was easy load the gift card issued for the warranty to my Amazon account. Quick and easy to file a claim & get resolution!
I bought a blender from Amazon about 18 months ago and at the same time, purchased the Asurion policy to cover it. The glass pitcher cracked last week and I filed a claim with Asurion.
