De AudioQuest Carbon Digital Coax is een 5-laags carbon afgeschermde digitale interlink en maakt gebruik van meer zilver dan de Cinnamon. Daarnaast zijn de pluggen verzilverd in plaats van verguld voor betere geleiding.

Digitale Coax kabels van AudioQuest zijn ontworpen om vervorming over een extreem grote bandbreedte te minimaliseren. Bij veel toepassingen is de snelheid van de digitale communicatie belangrijk. Dat is het duidelijkst als je grote bestanden zo snel mogelijk wilt transporteren, of als je grote HD Video bestanden wilt bekijken. Bij Coaxiale Digitale kabels is snelheid niet alleen belangrijk om zo snel mogelijk zoveel mogelijk data te transporteren, maar nog veel meer omdat de tijdsrelatie binnen een digitale stream ontzettend belangrijk is om de analoge golfvorm te kunnen reconstrueren die alle informatie, de muziek en het plezier dat we daaraan beleven op onze oren over moet brengen. Vervorming in het tijdsdomein (jitter) van het signaal maakt dat het geluid klein en plat klinkt in plaats van driedimensionaal of scherp en omfloerst in plaats van vloeiend en transparant.

MASSIEVE 5% VERZILVERDE GELEIDERS: Massieve geleiders voorkomen wederzijdse beïnvloeding tussen de draden in getwiste kabels en verminderen jitter. Massieve verzilverde geleiders zijn perfect voor toepassingen met hoge-frequenties. Die signalen transporteren zich, omdat ze zo’n hoge frequentie hebben, haast uitsluitend over het oppervlak van de geleider. Omdat dit oppervlak is gemaakt van een erg zuivere graad zilver zijn de prestaties nagenoeg gelijk aan die van een massief zilveren geleider, maar komt wat prijsstelling betreft veel dichter in de buurt van massief koperen kabels. Dit is een ongelooflijk kosteneffectieve manier om hoogwaardige Digitale Coax kabels te produceren.

OPGESCHUIMDE HARDE-CEL ISOLATIE: In de meeste AudioQuest video en digitale kabels wordt uitsluitend opgeschuimd harde-cel isolatie gebruikt. Net zoals bij opgeschuimd-PE wordt er stikstof geïnjecteerd om luchtkamers te maken. Hardschuim wordt gebruikt omdat de stijfheid van het materiaal de afstand tussen de geleiders over de hele lengte van de kabel stabiel houdt, waardoor de karakteristieke impedantie van de kabel constant blijft.

100% AFSCHERMING (FOLIE + SILVER SPIRAAL): Afscherming speelt een belangrijke rol in ieder kabelontwerp, maar de afscherming van coax interconnects is extra belangrijk omdat deze niet alleen als afscherming maar ook als retourpad fungeert. Daarom besteedt AudioQuest extra aandacht aan de kwaliteit van de gebruikte metalen en de gebruikte productietechnieken voor de afscherming, omdat beide een effect hebben op de beeld- en geluidskwaliteit.

KOOLSTOF GEBASEERD 5-LAAGS NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% afscherming is eenvoudig. Het voorkomen dat opgevangen RF storingen het aardpotentiaal van de apparatuur moduleren vereist AQ’s Noise-Dissipation System. Met metaal en koolstof verrijkte kunststoffen  voorkomen dat een groot deel van de gevangen RFI de aarding van de apparatuur bereikt.

Hope not to jinx it and have to change this review in six months but I'm extremely pleased with this machine. I've gone through two DeLonghis that lasted me each 4-5 years and I've liked them a lot, but both have eventually leaked and had quirks that were never ever answered/remedied by their customer service. I bought this Casabrews on spec, after looking through all sorts of alternatives, even hand models. I read through customer reviews, including the negative ones complaining about noise, its weight (or, rather lack of), claims over shoddy materials (its plastic components), alleged issues with its wand and basket, the quality of its shots, and so on. I was concerned about buying a product from a relatively new company with a short track record. But, OTOH, there were some very positive, persuasive reviews online. I'm from a coffee-producing nation and have more of it in my veins than blood so it's an absolute daily must-have that an increasingly leaking DeLonghi wasn't going to provide for long so I was facing an emergency. That this model was on sale at Amazon was a welcome incentive since, by the same token that I know what I like in coffee and scoff at the pretentious, opinionated coffee snobishness that too often characterizes conversations over it in the US, I've never been persuaded by the fancy-schmancy high-end, pocket-gouging machines on the market. While I've only had it for several weeks, I'm delighted with it. It's way faster than my old DeLonghis. I love that I don't have to hover over it watching to make sure it doesn't overflow because it turns itself off--and while I'm perfectly happy with the amount I'm getting without tinkering with it, it's programmable for longer shots. It's relatively quieter--noise complaints are likely from new users of espresso machines unused to their noise. It is lighter than my old machines, but the good news is that the basket fit loosens with use and a light hand on top of it solves the issue. The quibble about the basket falling from the wand seems to be more, again, about unobservant users who don't notice their design and the notch that locks the basket in place. It's also a preferable design than the wire in the DeLonghis, which would get loose and end up in our countertop compost bin when shaking out the puck. I even prefer the wetter pucks of used coffee it produces because they're way easier to scoop out of the basket than the DeLonghi's rock hard ones (even bent one of my demitasse spoons once). And, most importantly, the coffee is ABSOLUTELY FINE, even preferable to what I'd been getting from my old machines. And, hey, if it happens to have a short life, I'll just return and revise my rating and review.

Frother unit works well...just wish it pulled out a little more...drip tray could be wider as it's a little difficult getting a wide-mouth cup in without taking out the main tray...not a real hassle though. All in all....it's a 9.5 in my opinion. Functions are great...easy to understand and makes a great expresso, americano, latte and variable of each 👍👍 Great deal for the price!
