Druiven : 80% Roussanne en 20% Clairette
Wijn en gerecht : Deze wijn vraagt gerechten met een stevige structuur zoals visgerechten met een heerlijke roomsaus. Probeer zeker eens zeetongrolletjes met een safraanroomsausje. De wijn : Van deze schitterende wijn worden per jaar slechts 3000 tot 4000 flessen gemaakt.De Roussanne en Clairette worden afzonderlijk vergist. De Clairette wordt koud geperst, terwijl de Roussanne een ‘maceration’ ondergaat. De gisting van de Rousanne vindt plaats in vaten en blijft vervolgens nog ongeveer 5 maanden op hout. De Clairette blijft in roestvrij stalen vaten. De malolactische gisting wordt geblokkeerd. Na de assemblage blijft de Quintessence Blanc nog ongeveer 6 maanden in betonnen tanks. Na de assemblage rijpt de wijn nog eens 12 maanden op de fles. De kleur is goud wit en bijzonder helder. Zeer complexe neus met tonen van witte bloemen, exotisch fruit en een verfijnde mix van kruiden, saffraan en curry. Rijke, volle smaak met krachtige aroma’s van rijp fruit. Mooie balans. Top cuvée welke maar liefst 91 Parkerpunten heeft gekregen.
Quintessence’ is een topklasse witte wijn van Chateau Pesquié.
Serveertip en Temperatuur : Koel schenken aan 8°C à 10 °C maar zeker niet ijskoud.
Geschiedenis van Château Pesquié
De geschiedenis van Château Pesquié is in de eerste plaats die van een familie die al heel vroeg geloofde in het formidabele potentieel van de Ventoux, in het hart van een regio waar al meer dan twee millennia wijnstokken worden verbouwd.
Een biodiversiteitsreservaat
De 'Mont Ventoux' verdient zijn bijnaam 'Reus van de Provence'.
Dankzij deze onvergelijkbare rijkdom werd Ventoux in 1990 door UNESCO geclassificeerd als een biosfeer-reservaat.
Terroir.
Het terroir van Château Pesquié is in de eerste plaats een van de koelste microklimaten in het zuiden van de Rhône-vallei. Het is een grote minerale diversiteit met voornamelijk kalksteenbodems.
Minerale rijkdom en diversiteit aan druivensoorten
De wijngaard Château Pesquié ligt op gravel-kalkhellingen. De wijnstokken worden voornamelijk geplant op bodems uit het Quartaire tijdperk, die echter de minerale rijkdom van de Krijtbodems hebben geërfd.
De uitdrukking van het terroir
Bemesting, om de balans van de bodem te beschermen, wordt uitsluitend organische gedaan op basis van humus. De wijngaard, met een gemiddelde leeftijd van bijna 40 jaar, wordt voortdurend geherstructureerd met het oog op optimale kwaliteit. Er wordt ook voortdurend aandacht besteed aan de controle van de opbrengsten. Liever wat minder druiventrossen laten groeien maar die dan 100% rijp en kwaliteitsvol zijn.
De oogst begint heel vroeg in de ochtend om de druiven op lage temperatuur binnen te brengen. Afhankelijk van de terroirs, de druivensoorten en de leeftijd van de wijnstokken, duren de maceraties tussen de 12 en 30 dagen. Vinificatie en opslag vinden voornamelijk plaats in roestvrijstalen en betonnen vaten.

Amazing!

This book was phenomenal, I devoured it within a few days! For this being a debut novel, it is fantastic and I would’ve thought the author was a seasoned author. I have zero complaints about this book.
Let me start by saying that the world building was phenomenal. I could picture everything in my head because of how detailed it was — that’s how good it was written. And I absolutely love the “captive/captor” trope so much, it’s become one of my favorite tropes, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that this book had that.
I loved the banter between Rogue and Ara — they’re both snarky and witty, plus with the romantic tension, it made the dialogue that much better. Speaking of romantic tension, yes there is spice but not so much of it that it overrides the plot, which I loved. For me, this would probably be on the 3/5 level of spice.
This book had a ton of plot twists and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

High on Tropes and Satisfaction

This is a great Romantasy book full of action, adventure, and everything you look for in this genre.
I won’t lie: it does kinda feel like the author found every common trope from every successful book of this kind and threw them all into this novel. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Especially in romance, there’s a large audience who has specific expectations, and they want them every time. Nothing wrong with that and many times I’m one of them.
I have no idea what defines a spoiler honestly, so
spoiler alert!!!!!!!
Tropes include:
Only one bed at the inn/bar
Dissatisfaction with life before hunk appears
Lost royalty
The chosen one
Montage of dress up time followed by shocked hunk
Forbidden romance between two from rival peoples

Gathering intel at the inn/bar
FMC who knows how to fight/use weapons well
There’s probably more but no need to list them all.

OUTSTANDING
Format: Kindle
This was very, very good. The world is vast and characters are complex. There is a good plot with a whole lot going on. This is well written. Good twists and turns and some heart breaking moments. You will love these characters, they have heart and loyalty. I am hoping that there will be several more books. We've yet to see anything from the Sea Court but only a mention of them here and there. The Wood Court was given a quick couple of scenes, and only as far as some warriors, we've yet to enter their court and the Shadow Court, I'm not sure if they will be a force for good or bad, but they definitely will play a much bigger role moving forward. This is primarily the Ice and Air Courts. Told in multiple views, which I loved, it gives you a chance to see things from different eyes. There's alot of political maneuvering and deception. I loved it and will pick up the next book as it becomes available. If you like The Fae and the courts, you should love this. I think the author has mucn in store for us.

Definitely worth the read!

After taking a deep breath and taking in that wicked twist of an ending, I have finally composed myself. My first thought when I started this book was that I love Reyna's character. I was intrigued by her connection with her familiar and the Ruin that is plaguing her land. It came as no surprise that she took her sister's place in an attempt to protect her. When they reach the Air Court everything slows down. This is where it was iffy for me. First of all, I like multiple POV's in books however 7 is a bit much. It starts to interrupt the story line. I felt like I was finally making progress connecting with one character, then it was switched to another person. I felt they all had necessary or pertinent information but not necessarily were they all POV worthy. The only other thing that annoyed me was that Reyna constantly was " trapped." She would rush off without thinking, only to need rescuing. She is brilliant in a fight, but she really doesn't think through anything. Lorcan is amazing. I know he might be on the "bad" list, but his background is so interesting. Eislyn(Reyna's sister) is really so sweet, but calculating. I enjoyed her and Thane's dialogue. The author did an amazing job with the imagery in this book. Everything was so detailed it was easy to fall into the scene. I love unexpected twists and while part of the ending I expected, I wasn't expecting how it took place. All in all, I found it very entertaining and I am very invested in continuing this series.

Great Read!!! Great story!!!

The series is long, but Ms. Wolfhart does a fantastic job of weaving this tale while bringing so much to the characters. Surprises and plot twists along the way to keep you intrigued. There is some graphic sex, but is no way the focal point. Grammar was excellent (a rare find with a lot of self publishers) with only a few noted errors. I rarely give 4 stars, let alone 5.
