The Catholics were formed in 1991 by highly-respected Australian bassist lloyd swanton (the necks, vince jones, bernie McGann, wendy matthews, among many others) as a vehicle for his composing and producing, with the intention of injecting a much-needed dose of infectious world rhythms into the jazz tradition. They were an instant success. In their long career, The Catholics have toured overseas to Canada, europe and Thailand, have won a mo award, and have been nominated for several aria and apra awards, and a German deutsche schallplattenkritik award also. After the atmospheric detour of their acclaimed previous album, 'gondola', ("the sound is big and the effects gorgeous - a beautiful release" - the wire, UK) 'village' returns The Catholics to their trademark fusing of jazz with various dance grooves from around the globe, a meld which has cemented their popular appeal here and abroad. From the mid-sixties blue note boogaloo of 'half a shark' and 'the cumbia of salaam', through african tones and island jive, to the freeze-dried gilberto-esque bossa of 'sugarloaf', this is another joyous and sensual album from The Catholics, imbued with humour and warmth. Beautifully recorded and mixed, 'village' represents a stepping-back by bandleader lloyd swanton from the chief composer role. Says swanton, "i'm delighted to be opening up the band's palette to other composers, both within and outside the band. On 'village', we've got first-time contributions such as our guitarist jonathan pease's beautiful african tune 'pelicans' and slide guitarist bruce reid's exquisite 'grace', we've got a great samba tune from our saxophonist sandy evans in 'sun dance', but we're also playing contributions from legendary saxophonist bernie McGann, ernest ranglin's drummer dion parson, and that great Australian pianist, barney McAll."

Try a different pillow
Size: Upgrade Queen (2 Pack)
Even with all the memory foam in it, it's still flat. No firmness to it. I hoped it would expand and settle in the few weeks I've had the pillows, but nothing works (dryer, fluffing, etc)

This is a must have!

One of my favorite purchases! I love that you can take stuffing out as needed. My husband kept majority of his in because he likes a full pillow. I prefer a flatter, soft pillow so I took out probably half of the stuffing. We both love them!

Excellent pillow.

Wow these pillows are fantastic!!! First off they are good quality and sized as described. I'm forced to sleep on my back since I use a cpap every night. They suggest taking some filling out for "back sleepers". But in my case, I am disabled, overweight, and the way I position myself on a pillow is probably unique. I have a little of my shoulders, head and neck on the pillow. I didn't have to remove any filling. It was pretty good at first and after about a few day/nights, everything settled in just perfectly. It's truly one the finest pillows I've owned to date. (Part of my disability is a very painful neck & muscle malady, my head leans far to the right. Basically feels like a crick in your neck that never goes away. It's called tortacollis or dystonia depending who you talk to.) Because of this, I have truly spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on different types and styles of pillows. A very select few have worked out fairly well over time until I found this one. As I said in the beginning, this is an excellent pillow and a great value as well. Hopefully this will work as well or even better for others. I purchased a 2 pack this time, 1 for home and the other for our RV. Definitely buying. another 2 pack to keep for future replacements. Pillows simply don't last forever. They get funky in time. No matter how clean you try to stay with bedding and personal hygiene, it just happens eventually. Sweet dreams. :~)

Incredibly thick and firm pillows. Not great for stomach or side sleepers. They alway end up on the floor cause we find them uncomfortable. Don’t recommend, practically unusable
