  • Key Features

    • Genuine parts sourced from authorized distributors or directly from the manufacturer. All boards and parts needed for a stereo pair of Modulus-86 are included.
    • World class performance ensured by an error correction circuit with local, low-noise power supply regulators.
    • Power supply agnostic by design. High performance is attained with unregulated power supplies and with switch mode supplies.
    • Differential (balanced) input which eliminates hum and ground loop issues. Can be used with single-ended (unbalanced) sources as well.
    • On-board EMI/RFI input filter and ESD protection.
    • Four-layer PCB optimized for high signal integrity. All ground management is handled on the PCB.
    • The circuit board is made in Canada and has been fully electrically tested by the manufacturer.
    • All through-hole construction.

    Build difficulty (1-5): 3 (moderate).

To successfully build this Kit you will need decent soldering skills and the basic hand tools used in soldering. You will need to be able to correctly identify the different parts from the markings on the parts. These markings are in the form of colour codes on resistors and 3-digit codes on ceramic capacitors. The assembly guide contains all the information needed to identify the parts. Note that the markings on the parts are pretty small, so having a magnifying glass or loupe handy can be helpful. Similarly, access to an ohmmeter is helpful for telling the resistors apart.

The OPA627 is no longer manufactured in the two DIY-friendly package options available with these Kits. Furthermore, the TO-99 (metal can) version is soldered directly into the PCB whereas the DIP-8 version is socketed. As result, I recommend that those who attempt to build the 10th Anniversary Edition of the Modulus-86 have at least a moderate level of experience. This is especially true for builders of the TO-99 version.

The build video below shows you how to build the Modulus-86 10th Anniversary Edition amp modules. Please watch the video to gauge the skills needed.

  • The block diagram of the Modulus-86 10th Anniversary Edition is shown below.

The Modulus-86 10th Anniversary Edition uses an OPA627 to form a balanced composite amplifier with the LM3886. An LM4562 is used for the differential input. The LM4562 can be replaced by any unity gain stable opamp, including many discrete opamps, should you desire to experiment with other opamps.

The differential input can be used both with differential signal sources (XLR) and with single-ended ones (RCA).

The Modulus-86 is power supply agnostic by design. This is unique to the Neurochrome Modulus amplifiers. Due to the error correcting composite amplifier topology, the Modulus-86 performs as well on a traditional unregulated linear power supply or a switch mode power supply (SMPS) as it does on a well-regulated laboratory power supply.

The PCB layout is crucial at the performance levels attained by the Modulus-86. The four-layer PCB employs differential signal routing and carefully designed copper pours and planes to ensure optimal circuit board performance.

Pretty Darn Good
Format: Kindle
So I’ve been on a omega kick and this definitely hit the spot. Madison was frustrating at times with how she acted towards Lucas, Gray, and Rian. It was like she said towards the end, she didn’t believe she deserved nice things. It would have been nice to hear from her best friends again. They kind of were there in the beginning and the gone except for mention of text messages received from them. I feel like her friends would have been great help in encouraging Madison to go with the pack and never give Brent another chance because he was toxic. I loved Rian. His personality was awesome. His humor. His ability to make Madison comfortable whenever she was feeling overwhelmed. And the fact he fell for her and she fell for him first. They are cute together. I do feel like Lucas was the odd man out though. Like Lucas didn’t develop as much of a relationship with Madison. I would have really liked to see more development in the relationship between them. It was also the same with him and Rian. There is really no relationship displayed. Most of the relationship being displayed is between Rian and Gray. Nevertheless, I loved reading about the dynamic that came to fruition during the entirety of this story. Madison finally got her happiness. And Brent finally got punched in the face. Everyone got exactly what they deserve.

Pack's Promise was okay but not great
Format: Kindle
Pack's Promise was okay but not great. I won't recommend it to anyone that I know. PRO: * Very likable characters * Lots of steamy scenes that are written very well * The spelling and grammar are good * The punctuation is good with the exception of using hyphens instead of commas. Lots of hyphens. Lots and lots of hyphens. CON: * Almost no interactions with any characters outside of Madison and the pack * Nearly no plot. They meet, get together for a heat, agree to make it permanent, done * Quite a few typos such as extraneous words, missing words and words out of order THINGS TO KNOW: * More steamy scenes than storytelling * A lot of MM & MMM, some MFMM during heat

Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo
