Die Länge der deutschen Ostseeküste in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern beträgt über 400 Kilometer. Sie bietet eine Fülle von historischen Städten, Küstenlandschaften, Seebädern und Naturräumen und Inseln. Neben feinen Sandstränden findet man auch Steilküsten und Dünenlandschaften. Beeindruckend ist die Seebäderarchitektur an vielen Küstenorten, ebenso die Handels- und Hafenstädte wie Rostock, Stralsund und Wismar mit ihrer historischen Backsteingotik.
